My Daughter, Ava, has danced with JCEDA since she was 4 yrs old.She began with the little Jewel competitive teamat just 5 yrs old and is still a competitive dancer today, at age 12.  Through the years her love and passion for dance has been nurtured and supported by Julie and her staff. Ava started out as a young, and somewhat shy, child who struggled a bit with memorizing choreography but always lit up the stage and loved to dance.Through the years, Juliecontinued to encourage her and always believed in her ability to go further. Julie gave us tips on how to improve her memorization, and was always welcome to open communicationand providing feedback to help her grow as a dancer. By age 10 Ava was blessed to win her first dance down in Seattle against over 100 kids her age. That was just the beginning of many successful and amazing dance moments to come for Ava. Ultimately, she has had to work very hard to be where she is. But she couldn't have done it without the guidance and support of Julie. Proud to be with JCEDA!

Family Friendly Environment

"We offer a positive, nurturing, family fun environment."

Julie Secrest
I've been a dance student for 43 years and a dance teacher for 30  of those years.

My studio is about family, and my personal mission statement is "I do the best with whatever God gives me."

I continue my education at events such as Nuvo, 24/7, Monster A-list, Radix, Jump, Tremaine, LADF, the Edge, NYCDA and Hosctor's Dance Caravan, among others.  My training continues through conventions and workshops every year.

In addition to Julie's Competitive Dance Academy, I am co-director of SpoDance.  SpoDance is a northwest convention where we bring in top name instructors from all around the country to extend the dance education of the Washington area students above and beyond thier local options.
Our Mission:  To teach not only dance, but the life lessons that go along with it.  To have a positive, nurturing, family fun atmosphere where you can be confident that your dancer will learn to the best of their ability.  To inspire and help the dancers reach and achieve their goals.  To be good listeners and teachers for your family and do our very best to make you happy.

Our Instructors:  Julie Secrest, Ashlee Pruczinski, Sarah Paul, Michael Freeman, Chelsea Garcia, Chantel Meade, Courtney Tibesar, Kari Milich, Ashley Bleisner, Kelsey Westgard
